I CAN HAZ MORNING SICKNESS*?

Dear Lord – I have to do a presentation for our board tomorrow.  Please don’t let me puke during this presentation.  Please let T  forget to wear her noxious perfume that will instantly make me puke if  I smell it.

And Lord, while I have your ear, please give me enough energy to exercise.  I see all these younger women pushing strollers, bouncing down Market Street, wearing a size 4. How does this happen? Aren’t you MORE tired after your baby is born?

All I know is that my belly is swelling & my love handles are jigglin and it’s gonna get worse before it gets better.  It’s almost time to call in big guns, Lord.  Hoping you can help a sista out.

Thanks,

b.

P.S. “Morning” sickness!??! Who gave it this name? Someone who obviously never had it.  More like “It lasts so long, you’ll forget what it’s like to not want to puke” sickness.

Okay, now your blog is my dollop of humor on a dour day.

As for the size 4 women, they got lucky in the gene roulette. Let’s see how they look in twenty years. You just have to remember that you’re perfect just as you are. And you can’t really grow a bean without the belly swelling – it’s all beautiful and as it should be.

The other sunny spot in my day today – downloaded and now listening to one of your fab dj sets from Willits. The pond set. Makes me bounce in my seat.

    Good luck with the preso.

I’m sorry sista, I hope it is o.k if I call you out right now. That body image stuff has got to go; you are pregnant, your body is going to do what it needs to do to support your baby and that is the most important thing. And I have to say that thin women worrying about their weight is difficult for me after growing up with a mother who Really struggled with her weight. So much of it is genetic and while we do have to be mindful of how we interact with our genetic tendencies those of us who are relatively small should be grateful about the fact that we struggle less.
Plus, you look fabulous and I hope that your joy about the baby gives you the Glow that Heather had. Remember how beautiful she looked at Willits?
You seem to be pretty nauseous; have you been drinking ginger and/or peppermint tea? It can’t hurt.
